Preparing

Six days now until I leave for Uganda...
Two days ago, I packed my bags, left DC despite the road blocks and mass of people trying to get into DC, and flew to Texas to see my sister and her family.
Yesterday, I became a Texas resident and ate at George Bush's favorite BBQ joint.
Today, I put my suits away for the year and started preparing for my trip to Uganda.
Tomorrow, I will be going to Kindergarten. (With my niece of course)
Then flying to Minnesota and Iowa to say goodbyes there.

As I continue to pack and gather the random items (such as a head lamp) to travel to the other side of the world, I can't help but think of all the people who I've met and who have helped me to get this far. I'm going to miss everyone, but I can't wait to meet the people in Uganda.
